 3 years or more of hands-on experience with Cisco and routers, switches and wireless devices .
 CCNP Certified.
 Manage and maintain VLANS, Core Switches, Routers, Wireless, and Firewall.
the Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining systems, participates planning capacity, performs audits and installs network equipment and maintain configurations.
Job Responsibilities

Performs technical support in all of the following areas:

Planning & Design

• Determines differences and functionality of various LAN technologies
• Performs basic routing protocols such as TCP/IP
• Design of Network Systems
• Works with telecommunications carrier technologies and Gegabit Ethernet
Implementation & Operation

• Configuration of routing protocols
• Configuration of IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateway addresses
• Configuration of additional administrative functionality
• Configuration of VLANS and inter-switch communication
• Configuration and management of system and device configuration
Troubleshooting

• Utilizes the OSI model as a guide for systematic network troubleshooting
• Perform LAN and VLAN troubleshooting
• Perform troubleshooting of more complex routing protocols
• Perform troubleshooting IP addressing and host configurations
• Perform troubleshooting of access lists
• Perform simple WAN troubleshooting
Technology

• Experience with network communications using layered models
• Compare and contrast key characteristics of LAN environments and provide recommendations for system needs
• Define and execute routing protocols
• Installs and maintains TCP/IP communication systems and its associated protocols
• Installs and maintains components of network devices
• Installs and maintains WAN technologies
Security

• Assesses differences in Firewall Architecture and provides solutions for a robust Firewall which meets the BU’s needs.
• Participates in defining functionality and operation of a Security Policy
• Execution of reasons and methods for network address translation
• Maintains IPSEC tunnels

Experience

• 3-5 years in specific network systems engineering positions
• 3-5 years working with Cisco equipment required
• 3+ years in specific network systems engineering positions
• 3+ years experience with hardware installation
• 3+ years experience loading Windows and Linux operating systems is a big plus
Education Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related degree
• Professional Certifications
